Summer Blended Learning Academic Credit Courses

District 230 is committed to providing students with various learning opportunities to ensure they are college and career ready by the use of technology and online learning courses.  The online courses are taught in a blended format, meaning students will meet with the several times at Sandburg during the summer.

Interested in taking a blended course or learning more….fill out the BLENDED LEARNING INTEREST FORM and we will contact you.

What is a blended course?

A blended course simply means we “blend” traditional face-to-face class meetings with virtual online classes led by a D230 teacher.  These courses are targeted for students who wish to accelerate or replace a grade of D or better.  They are limited in space and fill quickly.  These classes offer students a flexible schedule where they do not need to attend summer school daily, but will engage in the learning with one of our excellent D230 teachers through both Canvas and Google.

The courses below are taught in the Canvas learning management system and are taught by a district 230 teacher. Many students take this course in order to accelerate and attend other summer activities.  Students in these courses are generally motivated and take initiative in their own learning.  This course is teacher-led which means that students will have access to their teacher on a regular basis.  The teacher also facilitates the learning through online activities which have deadlines that students will be expected to meet.  Please see the orientation meeting page for even more information. We will hold an orientation meeting on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 pm for students who have registered and paid for the course.
