In this course, students will distinguish between various types of furniture construction and their appropriate applications, and how to use various woodworking machines for cutting and shaping wood. Students will gain experience in constructing cabinets and other interior woodwork. Emphasis is placed on safety, planning, applied math, understanding technical drawings, teamwork, time management, and quality workmanship. This course covers the different methods of joining pieces of wood and the use of mechanical fasteners. Seniors may take Woodworking 2 and 3 concurrently with administrative approval. Prerequisite: Woodworking 1 with a āCā or better.
