The purpose of this course is to promote the understanding of events, trends, personalities and movements in local, state, national and world history. Through the curriculum, the students will be exposed to the rules of our social system. They will learn to determine where their place is in our society as citizens and that they need to be contributing citizens now and in the future. Students will also learn how to make more informed choices, how to prudently use resources, and experience how significant historical figures have played an important role in our current society. They will also learn to understand common characteristics of different cultures and how their contributions have helped change our society over time.
