Spanish 5 Honors is a rigorous course taught exclusively in Spanish that requires students to improve proficiency across the three modes of communication: interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational. Corresponding cultural elements are integrated into units of study and classroom activities are designed with those cultural connections in mind. It is expected that students have previously been exposed to advanced language structures in the courses leading up to this one; however, review of the mechanics (grammar) is done with the contextual framework of each unit as needed. Students who express an interest are encouraged to take the AP Spanish Language & Culture exam in May.
